My New To Me 2008 Fleetwood Jamboree

Thought I'd come here and make a post on my new to me RV. It is actually my first big RV. I do have a Scamp travel trailer, but this is like a condo compared to the Scamp. LOL

My hubby bought it at a lien sale auction so we don't know much about it. We do know that the original owner didn't want it as his insurance company paid him off. We know that a homeless person had it during the time it was gone from the original owner. Luckily that homeless person didn't tear it up to bad. Basically there is a drawer that may need to have new tracks (haven't looked at it that close yet) and a cupboard door that needs to be reinstalled or replaced. The rest is just kind of dirty. So far I have washed the covers to the overhead bed cushions and the dining cushions, twice. LOL I also cleaned the overhead bed area with Clorox Clean Up. I cleaned the kitchen counter and walls, but still need to do the stove.

I still need to take the cover off the bed and wash it. (I am hoping the bed cushion is going to be ok). Then I pretty much need to use Clorox Clean Up in every cabinet and every wall. So I have my work cut out for me.

What we know so far on it, is it needs a new ignition switch, mirrors for the doors, possibly doors if we can't fix the key holes, a catalytic converter, and a new motor for the steps. Oh, and either a new screen door or we need to find a new latch. I'm using a bungie cord to keep it close right now. It also has some minor damage to the outside of the slide out and one of the storage doors has a minor hole and the trim piece is pretty banged up. Minor stuff though.

We tried to put the dining slide out, out, but it didn't move. We had the the van running, park brake was on, and it was level, but the slideout didn't do anything when I pushed the button. I didn't even try the bedroom because I didn't realize it had a seperate button. LOL Yah, newbie here. So we will need to try to figure out what is wrong with the dining slide, could be just a fuse, but we don't know yet.

Here are some pics. The pics of the kitchen will have before and after pics and same with the overhead bed area. I'm not sure how to insert pics within the text in this forum so I won't be able to put the "before" and after" in where needs to go.

Congrats on the new rig! She looks good and I bet you'll have her in tip-top condition in no time at all! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Try to find an online owners manual. My 06 class C, the slides would not function with the ignition on. My 05 class A was the same. Current 2018 class A gas, the ignition must be on for the slides to work. Hopefully that's an easy one.

Our 1st rig was a 1990 Fleetwood Jamboree model 27Y... absolutely loved that unit, wish we could find another one! You'll no doubt love yours too. Congrats, and enjoy!

I went out and did some more cleaning. Got the dining area top to bottom washed. Put the cushions back in place. Cleaned the toilet so now I feel I can actually sit on it. LOL Sorry, no pics of that. When hubby got home we went out to see if we could get the bedroom slide to go out. It did!! So we took the cover off the foam mattress and I will do a pre soak and wash it tomorrow. Now I can clean that room too.

Hubby is supposed to go by the Ford wrecking yard and pick up an ignition for it tomorrow.

Question, does anyone have a key that I can see that would be for all the storage doors? We don't have any keys, and hubby brought a bunch home he found in a different RV, but none of those would even go in the key holes. The one's he found are all single sided keys and I was wondering if maybe it is supposed to be a dual cut key? If I could see one, it would give me and idea what to look for.

Will update again when I get more done. Been kind of slow going because a couple weeks before he go the RV, I got a puppy, and I am trying to potty train him. I would take him to the RV but it is still dirty and he hasn't had all his parvo shots. I did use clorox clean up on the floor today, so maybe it will be a bit safer to take him with me tomorrow. (RV is parked in our other property that a person live in the house and she also has 2 small dogs).

Till next time!!!

I don't know how to edit the title an the post, but I just learned that my hubby told me the wrong year. I went out to try to find some info on it, and i learned it is a 2007, not 8. So if someone can change that for me, I'd appreciate it!! Thanks
