New Itasca Viva!23L in Seattle, WA

Hello, new friends. Our family purchased a new 2015 Itasca Viva! 23L in May 2015 from McClain's RV in Fort Worth, TX. Cedric, our sales rep, flew us down from Seattle and we have a beautiful 6-night adventure back home. Since then, we've had a blast with it. We are 2 adults, 2 kids (12 and 16) plus a 39-pound Dudley Dog.

We can't imagine wanting anything bigger. It has everything we want. But we are simplifiers and "less is more" in life, anyway. We LOVE it!

I owned a used 2004 27-foot Class C for about 2 weeks, did some renovations and flipped it. Too old. The wiring and propane worried me and it made my kids terribly carsick.

Enter the Viva/Trend. I finally found my camper! It had exactly what we wanted: 2 forward-facing real seats with high-backs and head rests and 3-point real seat belts. Real beds for all 4 of us, without having to make up or break down a thing. The magic floating loft bed is just that: magic!

The seating is fantastic, with the swivel-around front cab seats. I added comfort by putting in a couple of kids' footstools, as the seat height is high and a bit uncomfortable. We are 5'7" mama and 5'11" dad. Love the endless hot water heater. Wish the booth seat didn't slip forward all the time, as it's a PITA to push back in and buckle at the same time. Other sticky issues: the back beds were immediately broken and dropped down into the storage area. And the floating bed was missing a bunch of screws or bolts. Those were fixed by our local Itasca warranty place, with the exception of the back corner bed. Still broken.

Any other Itasca Viva owners out there? We've named her Velma. We love her.

Warmly-
Melissa in Seattle
