NEW rig show off's you say. OK

Hear goes. NEW to us. 2000 winnebago journey 34B. Ya she will fit in the vintage section of threads. But I have to tell you we both love this thing.

The main thing for me was maintenance records for these older coaches and she has them back to 2005. That is rare to find i have found. And at 67k somewhat low miles, in very good shape for her age, if you don't count the exterior. Ya not so good paint and some delamination. But not beyond repair if we want but at this price point I'm not sure I want to repair the delam. I will watch close for it getting worse and then decided. Tires are 6 years old with about 2/3 tread left. I do think I can buff out the paint some but there are a few other things on the priority list.

Hoses/wire connections and underbody rust, but hardly no rot holes underneath. Purchase with eyes wide open and I know I can paint/replace what is needed on the chassie.

I will say again we are extremely happy with it and have taken a few trips with it. We actually live in it 3 days a week, working my retirement job out of town.

So this is not my first rodeo but it is my first A. I have always bought older stuff ie trucks/ cars/campers ect. and fixed them up. We'll that is my "NEW" (to us) rig show off.

Ooohhhh wait that one got away from me. We're probably not suppose to post dinner pics on this thread.
Well that is a pic of winne old girl. I guess that is not a very original name but the previous owner called her that so we just went with that.

Maybe this question is on the wrong thread? One of my others got moved.

Are there any thoughts on running these older coaches to AK from MI. I know that is a broad question depending on condition, but my humble thoughts is do all you can to prepare it. Then carry tools and maybe a few spare parts. Condition being more important than age??????

Any thoughts on that would be awesome. And if your ever in lake city michigan I'll make you some of them NACHO.

That isn't a picture of dinner, its a photo of a shiny Alcoa Aluminum Rim!
By the way, you are making me hungry.

I owned the same rig as yours and it was one of the best Motorhomes I have ever owned. Good luck with it. If you take it to Alaska, just be sure your shocks are good, and you slow down for the frost heaves. Mine had the C7 Cat engine in it. That was a strong runner. Be sure that you clean the radiator thoroughly, as mine got clogged up with all the road trash like sand, salt and road dust. Mine started running hot.
