New to DW and Me 5er

2 days short of 1 year since I joined IRV2 and I have to report that we finally purchased our first 5th wheel.

It's not a new one or an elite model, but, it fits our needs and we are happy with our choice.

1989 Terry Resort 25 5L

A relative told me about this 5er in great condition for it's age. He talked so good about it that I had to check it out. I looked online for pictures of a similar trailer. Pictures looked nice.

I called the Seller and drove 40 miles up the hill to take a look. It looked really nice. It was better than I was expecting. Speaking to the Seller, he sounded genuinely honest and I didn't get the feeling he was misrepresenting information. I now wanted it.

Since it was Sunday, I couldn't get the money for the purchase so I gave him a check for the deposit until I could get the money, during the week. I didn't even have the hitch installed, yet. I started researching here for info and received a lot of advice. Thanks everyone.

I scheduled the hitch install for Friday. After installation, I picked up the 5er and drove it up and down the hill with no issues with towing. This was last weekend.

It had rained pretty good since, and I didn't find any signs of leaks or stains.

2 days ago, I registered it.

Yesterday, I went through the operations and details of electrical (120v and battery power; there is a compartment for a generator, but not present); the propane ( tanks, leaks, pilot lights, and burners); and water pump, tank, & plumbing.

Here's a couple of pictures:

This 5er is ready to go venturing. We aren't quite ready. We need to outfit the 5er with necessities. In fact, DW has been wanting to go shopping at the Camping Stores since the trailer pulled into the driveway.

I think we will be going on a trip soon.

So I will be asking questions about it as I will still be learning this trailer.

Any advice is appreciated,

Thanks,

Rich

Looks great! I will say, im jealous of the long box pickup, and extended pin box on the 5er! PLENTY of room for maneuvering!
