New to me, 40' 2009 Phaeton GTH

I've been driving a 2004 Windsport 35d but found the V10 didn't provide the performance I wanted, especially out here in the Mountains of NC.

So a diesel became the focus, and we ended up with a 2009 Phaeton. The diesel didn't disappoint, and the ride was so nice I found it difficult to stay focused on the 8+ hour ride home.

My wife and I and our two GSD's are gearing up for a trip to Moab next year, and this will be our home away-from-home on the 4-week trip.

I believe your 2009 Phaeton is most likely a 40QTH.

WOW! That's a beautiful rig! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Tell me did you consider the GSD's in your purchase? "floor plan' leather vs fabric?? We just made our first plunge and have to large Goldens that will be our companions. We tired to stay with as much tile as possible. Were very excited to get it in our possession after a few mods are done. 2004 Monaco Dynasty 40'
Congratulations you and your crew will have a blast.

Yes, we sure did. These dogs are our life, or so it seems. Not sure how (or when) it happened, but one day I realized we live our lives around making sure they are having a good time.

We like the tile floor because it's not as slippery as the wood floor in our 2004 Windsport. Also, I'm going to have some killer custom rugs made that cover the areas that get the most use, like just above the stairs and around the two captain chairs.

We're lucky in that we have never allowed the dogs on the furniture. Yes, they sleep on the bed, but they understand the difference between the couch and the bed. So the leather was safe. :-)

Enjoy your new MH. Maybe we'll bump into each other someday in a distant RV park.

Jim

Hey, happy trails with the new rig. Can't beat a DP. Just wanted to cyber handshake with a kindred spirit. We too are dog people. We have 2 ASD (Australian Shepherd Dogs) that we fully acknowledge are the primary motivation for our having an RV. They go with us everywhere. Thanks be to the built in vac. Hope to see you down the road.

Well thank you Yonder, that is very nice of you.

I’ve had ASD’s before. We lived on a ranch and the pups had lots of responsibilities, mostly with the cows. Very smart dogs.

Thanks for the shout. Hope to see you guys as well!
