Old to you, New to us =)

Yes, thats right...what we have here is a 1989 Winnebago Chieftain. Don't let her old age fool you, she does not look like a product of the 80’s, there are no ridiculous colors or ugly brown tweed, nor are there any mullets or insta-perms to be found! LOL

We originally bought this thinking we were going to spend about 2 months traveling. Until our plans changed recently to spend a whole year on the road with our 2 children ages 10 & 7. So, I hope since we already bought it, it will hold up for at least a year. So here she is.....

Looks a lot like the '87 Dolphin we had a few years ago. Had great fun.

Wow it looks great for the age. You are right, the inside does not look 80's and it is on the cusp of 1990. I hope you have much fun traveling with your family in it.

Great looking rig. We have an 87 Allegro Bay and we love the layout. Don't let the year worry you. I like not having a payment and I don't feel bad if it sits for awhile. I quit worrying about what others thought years ago. I just want to enjoy my outings

@ Awarnes, awesome now I don't feel so bad knowing I'm not alone! You are not kidding though, I love not having a payment. A lot of folks here have some really nice rigs, but I am sure I too will have something that nice one day. We are still a young couple in our early 30's and have a while to upgrade to one of those beauty's HAHAH Our Motor home is in Michigan at my in-laws and we are having them take it into the shop for an overall inspection to make it safe for our dream trip to Alaska starting @ the end of July when my hubby gets out of the Military.

Dixie & John, thank you both for the warm welcome & well wishes. Hope to get to know a lot of you here & share stories of our travels. =)

The old Winnies were greta coaches. Are you on a chevy or a Ford Chassis?

Chevy would be 454 CID (7.4L) and ford would be 460 CID (7.5L).

Looks like you are ahead of the game cosmetics wise. Once the mechanical aspect is sorted out you'll be ready to start having fun!
Congrats and enjoy.
