We are very happy with the reliability and performance of the 8v92. No mechanical issues at all. The ECM quit but I can’t complain since it was 23 years old. Biggest challenge has been finding a place to service it. We had Freightliner doing it for the first two years and now they won’t do any work on it because it is too old. There is a Detroit Diesel place in Houston but that is 70 miles away in Houston traffic.

We removed the couch and made a custom dog bed for our Great Dane.

Make sure to only run straight 40 Weight Low ASH Oil. Very Important.

I buy mine at O'Reillys Auto and carry a few cases in the cargo bay.
The OReillys P/N is CHV 100-40-1 They can usually have it overnight.
