Well,
Finally made the plunge a couple of months ago on a new MH. After owning a 1989 Pace Arrow 30' for quite some time, the new one with slides is soooooo nice! Can't wait to keep putting miles on it! The 89 Pace had 221k when we sold it, so I'm looking to outdue that on the Southwind!
Here's a couple pics taken on the way home from the Colorado river last weekend.

The new Pace Arrow looks very nice!
Tell us about your old 89 Pace, especially your experiences with putting 221,000 miles on it. Was it a gas or diesel chassis?? If gas what chassis and did you have and have any major repairs done to the engine and transmission???

You'll really enjoy your Southwind. Quite a lot of changes have come along since 1989. We were leaning towards a Southwind, but once I saw the size of the shower in the Bounder we ended up purchasing, I was sold.
Happy travels!

Driver, thanks for the avatar...It would've taken me forever to figure out how to do it!!
As for the 89 Pace, it was on a P30 chassis with the GM 454. It was originally my parents, who put the majority of the miles on it, then got sold to me.
The Pace was great. Never left us stranded, and never needed ANY major repairs, just the typical stuff. I credit most of that to my dad, who took excellent care of it while he owned it.
Last year, the wife and I decided it was time for something new, and that was our own. Since my dad bought a 2004 Southwind a couple of years ago, we've been in love with the floorpland/interior ever since so we started looking around here and there. Looked at some beat up used ones, and finally got the right deal on the new "leftover" 2006. Only problem is that now that we have a new '06....dad's a little jealous!!!!!

I tried to buy a 2006 Southwind on a ford, then got upgraded to a 2007 on a workhorse by the dealer (late order) then that deal fell through. I think the dealer was loosing money so they delivered a trashed 2006 without half the options we ordered. Ended up with a Dolphin. Both seemed like good deals. Hope you enjoy that Southwind.

I want to see some shots of the rig in it's full splendor: Awning and chairs out, dogs running around, cold beverages in hand, bbq smoking! Enjoy!
