Ventana 3427: Didn’t really expect to be posting here again this soon...

Just bought a 2016 Ventana 3427. I bought my first class A a year and a half ago - 2010 Bay Star - as an intro and test run in the Class A RV world. I’ve really enjoyed the quality and comfort, but not the ride, even after several suspension upgrades.

So after a couple 5000+ mile trips I started searching for the right 33’-35’ Newmar DP and this model has been on my list from the beginning, but it’s a one year floor plan so not common. My two interior “ wants” were a sofa bigger than 74” and a walk-through bath. Not easy to find, other than this floor plan.

This is the first one I’ve seen for sale in over a year of watching and saving searches on the RV trader sites. It came up for sale on Monday and on Wednesday it was mine. Milage is higher than I wanted (34k) but it’s in really nice shape and was a custom order with a lot of tasteful and quality upgrades. A lot of compromises to get to this point, but I’m satisfied. Probably a four to five year coach.

I guess that granddaughter of yours really won't be getting an inheritance.

Nice coach, a lot of stuff tucked into a small floor plan.

She’ll get as much as she ever would have, which with seven grand kids won’t be a significant amount - enough for a nice cruise, but not enough to build a pool house. Put things in perspective. Right now I’m paying her college expenses (she gets free tuition) so that’s enough and more of a gift than any lump some of money could ever be. I don’t know exactly where that whole conundrum came from, but it appears we have all moved on with no damage to relationships.

But I digress.....here’s the specials - interesting choices. Took me a day to wrap my head around not having a cook top, but I got there. They are adding a Splendide washer/dryer combo as we speak:

Thanks - the first DP I drove was a 2007 34’ CC with a C9. Beautiful great riding coach, but it had the CC paint checking issue and no couch. A really nice custom desk I admired but didn’t need, and I really have to have a couch. And not a 74” one either. So....this works.

Not a high end coach but it will work for me and with dogs and grandkids, I spent a lot of time thinking about the impact on a luxury coach. With this one I don’t have as much to worry about.

I also looked at a lot of 2016 Ventanas with factory counters and wall coverings and I really find this interior quite a bit more pleasing.

That is a beauty. Congratulations and safe travels.

And a vented dryer was definitely the right choice.

GVW 35, ULW 28, GCWR 48, so 7 CCC, 10 towing, but most time I won’t be towing. One of the reasons I wanted to stay in a small coach is because I like to go to small CGs, back roads, dirt and gravel roads, places that are difficult in a bigger coach and/or when towing. I think it’s going to be a run ride, but not a full time rig. Just an exploration vehicle.

I plan to. My first trip will be the 2200 mile trip home. Last time (I bought my Bay Star in Michigan in Feb of 2019) I did it in around 48 hours, in snow storms and single digit temps. This time it will be summer (or nearly so) and I’m going to take my time and enjoy the coach.

Thanks - I think so too. And I think I’ll take the 9 year old boy with me to go get the coach. It will be a trip of a life time for him. I’ll get him a first class seat for the flight to Grand Rapids too, mainly because that’s where I’ll be sitting, but I’ll make sure he knows that the only way he’ll ever be able to enjoy that level of travel as an adult will be to get an education and work hard and provide for himself.
