There should be more and more RVs for sale with fuel prices up so much. If you use the camper a reasonable amount keep it, really enjoy it and expect fuel prices to drop at some point.
If you don't use it or use it little to none or if the purchase was a real stretch (especially if there is a large loan on it) sell it as soon as you can and be glad that you got rid of something that was not right for you anyway. Don't keep it thinking that I will loose a lot of money if I sell it because you will loose much more if you keep it.

Staying within the area of AZ, NM. It's our seriously warm time of year just getting started but there are places to escape the AZ heat and not break the diesel prices to our budget. BLUF: Won't forgo the love of camping which traveling 1 hr and 3,000 feet in elevation will find you in a truly beautiful environment and you'll never know home is not that far away. Still the prices hurt. Traveling to see the kids across country this year will be (instead) via our Cruze diesel sedan which averaging 50-60 miles a gallon and 600 miles per tank is much cheaper than our CR-V gas vehicle regardless. Rough times of course for RV diesel travel but hopefully this too will pass. I won't give up my Mercedes Sprinter diesel which averages 12-15 miles a gallon on the road both here in AZ as well in Arkansas as an example (26.4 gallon tank) which normally will grant you 350 miles per tank. This is our escape for RV camping and still averages better prices for diesel versus a 55 gallon Ford V-10 gas engine at least here in AZ where prices are 5.30 for diesel but 60 cents cheaper per gallon for gas.

I'm a lot more worried about how the fuel costs are going to affect the transportation of goods and the economy than I am about how it will affect RVing. RVing is just a small part of fuel consumption and the economy. Just about everything we buy depends on diesel to get it to us.

I know my 8.1 van (3.73 /265/75R16E) gets much better mpg than 10 on the highway but most of my driving is done with my 2017 Chevy Sonic Turbo 4cyl with 6-speed manual along with two E bikes that are solar charged.

Energy independence doesn't have anything to do with the price of fuel in the USA, crude is priced based on the global market
( this is true )
even if the USA produced 110% of the fuel we use, we'd still be paying high prices,
( We don't know that )
it's not like Exxon gives US buyers a discount, if world crude is priced at $120, they aren't going to sell it to American consumers for $80.

Pumping more oil would help the world market prices a bit by increasing demand, but it wouldn't bring prices down to 2021 levels.
( again you don't know that IMHO)

Shift down a gear... I pull 80,000# in my work truck and drive 56 MPH religiously unless I am late. 12 speed transmission is in 11th gear 95% of the time. Difference between 55 and 65 is about 1 MPG in that truck. At 100,000 mile a year, that's about a $12,000 a year savings in fuel costs. Pretty soon you are talking real money!
Now, if you can afford it and driving slower makes you crazy, my argument fails.
Going faster uses more HP / fuel period.

"oil companies record record profits" if you work on 1% then yes you make more selling a $5 product than you do sell a $1 profit... not hard to understand... your issue should not be with the oil companies but the regulations put into place that limit production and transport of the one product that we run on that there is no viable replacement for, I'm guess you could not push your RV 1 ft for $100,000.00 so it makes fuel seem pretty cheap...

What kind of thinking is that? Do you know what that does to savvy investors, as well as almost everything else in the economy? Just pay attention to what is happening right now and you will learn. Peoples retirement funds depend on the stock market. That affects a lot more people than those who have their retirement savings in savings accounts or CD's.

Hahahaha. Funny but so true.
If I thought about the rising prices too much, it would make me absolutely miserable. So, as much as I hate to use this trivial and worn out expression, the only way I can deal with soaring fuel prices is to accept that “it is what it is”.
Which doesn’t mean I like it, it just means I choose to focus on how lucky I am to be able to enjoy this lifestyle (as a full-timer)- even though our “time” might end earlier than planned if we run out of money.
“Tis better to have RV’d and lost than never to have RV’d at all”.
