2001 Alpine blowing engine fuses
All,
I have a 2001 Western RV Alpine. The coach has a 350 ISC Cummins diesel. Our coach has always been stored inside and run several times throughout the year. Yearly maintenance is always done in March. We drove about 15 miles this past week in preparation (fuel, propane, etc) for a trip down the Pacific coast. Yesterday we got in and drove 3 feet and the engine died. Oil full and 60lbs pressure plus, radiator full. After trying everything I could think of I found a 5 amp fuse blown. In the right rear service panel there are 3 wire bundles in this area. Each bundle has 3 fuses. The center bundle aft most fuse was blown. Changing this 5 amp fuse allowed the coach to fire up. We drove 400 miles and shut down for the night. This morning after driving 30 minutes the coach died. The 5 amp fuse was blown again. Did this 4 more times blowing fuses and traveling 1 mile. Put in a 10 amp fuse and drove 15 miles to destination. 1 wire from fuse goes to remote secondary fuel filter/water separator. This filter is new 150 miles before problem started yesterday. Please provide thoughts and suggestions to remedy this problem. Thanks to Cathy Olsen who stopped to help when she saw us broke down!
