2009 Monaco Dynasty Headlight Problems

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum, so please let me know if I am posting in the wrong area or if this has been covered before.

I recently purchased a used 2009 Monaco Dynasty Nottingham IV. One of the headlights was not working, so I took it to an RV place to be repaired. They took it to a chassis repair shop. That shop tried to fix the headlight, and whatever they did caused all of the running lights, tail lights and the other headlight to quit working.

Before this happened, they said it looked like someone had cut a bunch of wires and spliced them together, but they would try to fix the issue. A new headlight module has been installed, but they have not been able to fix it.

They need a wiring diagram of the headlight system. Does anyone know where I can find all of the wiring diagrams for a 2009 Monaco Dynasty or a shop in the southeast that would have that information? I am in the panhandle of Florida.

Any help or information is greatly appreciated.

Thank You!

There is a 2008 Monaco Dynasty wiring diagram in the files section, not sure if it has the lighting portion, you will have to check

The lights are controlled by the VIP smart wheel, along with a bunch of other stuff. But there is also some interaction with the light switch on the dash and HI/LOW on the steering column.

FWIW, in 2009 Monaco was in the middle of bankruptcy so there could be some short cuts on the coach, we visited the plant in ~Aug 2009 and the production line was being run with a skeleton crew.

Also, you can use the search box above to look for information.

In the Owners Forums there is a Monaco tab for postings specific to that brand

On the Monacos, they ran the headlight power up through the steering column, to a white nylon assembly under the steering wheel (steering wheel needs to come off to see it). The power ran though this assembly, which switched the HIGH/LOW beams and then back down the column and out to the lights. I use to have a photo of the assembly, but can't find it. The contacts in that assembly can get burned out. The turn signal/HIGH/LOW arm attaches to the assembly.

You need to check that you have power running in and out of the steering column. Also keep in mind that Monaco regularly put their switches on the ground side of wiring, not the hot side.
