2014 Newmar/MTAire-2014 American/Eagle-2014 Itasa/Ellipse???

Hello,

I know this is a broad range of coaches but we have narrowed it down to these 3. We are getting ready to trade our 2013 Tiffin Red for one of the 3 mentioned in the title and wanted to see if I could get current owners to comment on their experiences with these coaches?

I really like our current coach but we are looking for more of what is stated below.

Reason for trading:

Towing
Length
Power
Ride

Thank you very much in advance for your input.

Winnebago has a rear radiator. Just something you may want to consider.

We bought a 2014 MADP 4369 and love it...it does everything really well. Maybe a tad underpowered on massive hills, but cruises well with our truck in tow at 65 mph. Finishes are second to none.

I have a 2014 Eagle and am very happy with it. When I was shopping, I wanted electric floor heat, Silverleaf (or something close to it), air leveling, day/night shades that operated independently of each other, and rear bath. The Eagle, and the Tradition I might add, were the only coaches that had all of my wants. I looked at Entegra Anthem and Cornerstone, and Newmar Mt Aire. I probably would have went with the Tradition, but LD had a slightly used 14 Eagle and gave me a decent deal on it. Mine has the FTL Liberty chassis with the Detroit DD-13 500hp engine. I understand for 2015 they are going back to the 500 Cummins. I'm very happy with the performance of the DD-13 but I realize if anything goes wrong with it I may have trouble finding a repair facility. I know the previous owner had a few issues with it and had it back to Decauter to have some things fixed. I've had a couple minor issues that I had fixed in Coburg at ARG's factory repair facility. I've called and emailed various people at American Coach and have always gotten a quick response. So far, I'm very happy with American and the Eagle.

Check the tow rating. The Eagle is 15,000, don't know about the others.

Thank you all for the information. Sorry for the delay....I was not getting the notification that there were any answers to the thread.

Rodneykrantz - My Allegro is a 34QFA. Very nice coach...just want/need something bigger.

Cat320 - All the coaches that I am looking at can tow 15,000lbs.

exgman - Thank you for the review of your Eagle...One of the items that is drawing me to the eagle is the 500HP....and its good looks!!!

This is the difference between the 3 where the eagle is standing out....unless you can point to more. :-) All 3 coaches offer the heated floors, electric shades, and 1-1/2 bath. I would need to double check on the air-leveling but I believe the other two are hydraulic.

I am having a hard time with the pricing.....Eagle and Mt Aire are similar in price....but the Ellipse is much less. So far I am having a hard time seeing the difference. (looked at them all way too many times) This is why I am looking for owners of these coaches to come out like you and explain the differences and positives and negatives.

becks - Can you elaborate?

Thank you all for your postings and information....greatly appreciated.

Double check the Ellipse specs, I think you will find...
It does not have in floor heating.
It does not have power shades throughout the coach
Only in the cab area. The rest are MCD manual shades.

We have been looking at the Tour/Ellipse vs. AC Revolution vs. Entegra Anthem. All in the same approx. price area, all have advantages and disadvantages.

Good Luck with your search.

The Eagle's 500 HP is a Detroit Diesel. Service from AC is great, at the factory, on the phone or at the rallys.

Of the three, I'd probably go with the Mountain Aire. That was my choice if I didn't go with what I did. American Eagle is also nice, but you're going to pay significantly more for that coach. Last I looked it was vcnty of 600k MSRP, somewhat higher than MA.

I do my own maint, because of that I would not want a rear radiator. With a side radiator you open the rear hatch, and everything is right there and easy to work on. Would not want to change belts on a rear radiator, ten minute job with side rad. That said, rear rad coach will work for many folks.

Becks, obviously I have not given this much thought. I normally take our currently RV to the dealer or service station for all maintenance....lack of time at this point...but that is changing so that is a very good point.
