2016 Vista ‘hood’ lock brackets fell off

Hi all, always reading and trying a lot of the ideas you guys/gals experience. Saved my butt a few times. Haven’t been on for a while, also have a newer coach. 2016 Winnebago Vista 31BE. The problem: the 2 locks on the ‘hood’ or front engine access panel lock onto a bracket which is Glued/epoxied on the inside of the fiberglass front cap. No bolts used to hold it in place. Because of potholes, lousy roads/interstate highway construction the epoxy tabs that squish through the holes in the base of the unit all broke off. Hence it is bungee corded for now. (Clark Griswold style). Can’t drill holes and add bolts because it will show on the outside. The hood will not cover them when in place. Any ideas on how to repair. Dave

Super common WBGO issue. Most folks simply re-epoxy the brackets but some folks bolt them back on with exposed stainless round head bolts.

Thanks creativepart! About 10 k on the coach so far. May have to go with bolts but still looking for other ideas and also what type or brand of epoxy would be best for this problem.

There are a LOT of posts on this in the Winnebago section. I got lucky. Back in March I took my RV to an independent place in town to get an oil change and both brackets came off when they opened the hood. So, they reattached them for me and I don't know what they used.

Here a thru-bolt fix one guy did:

It happened to me on my (ex) HR Ambassador. I did , drill and bolt new wooden blocks . I used four Stainless Steel Cap Screw bolts , nuts ,washers. on each latch . Not one person every said What's that ? Not even the sales appraiser when I traded it in.
