2017 KOA Directory

I heard that the new KOA Kampground Directory will be mailed next month, but I had a feeling it would be arriving today.

Sure enough, it did!

Got ours yesterday - and the address imprint told me that I have ~46,000 points towards some free nights, well one, maybe anyhow

I thought it was a good touch to have the bonus points that were accrued listed on the address label.

Does the book actually help ?

We've always found that as soon as we get a book that is is outdated at the time it was printed, even before we got it!

and online searches were more up to date...

I'd say so. It is especially helpful when trip planning. I usually already know what routes I will be taking and the directory shows me where the campgrounds are along the way and what their seasons are.

Yes, it helps - as it's pretty easy to actually see where on the route the CG is in relation to your travel. I then do the on-line reservation. I'll usually pick up another copy for home use too.

Funny, I do the same thing. I keep one in the RV and one at home. Great minds think alike!

The reason I asked is that I used this last summer for a few trips and liked it...
Good Sam says they update the parks all the time...

I use that too, but their website isn't quite as easy to negotiate nor do I believe they update it quite as often as they state, having found a couple duds they had marked highly. Another to consider that I use if you are just looking at an area is RV Park Reviews (RV Park Reviews - Trusted Reviews of Campgrounds & RV Parks) or else just use these terms on Google " Campgrounds near XXX. The KOA directory is just one of several decent resources available to wanderers.
