Angry 2018 Coleman Light AC

We recently purchased a 2018 coleman light 2605 with one slide. We live in the panhandle of OK and have had several days of hot days from 95-105. We have a 13,500 BTU AC in the living area and are discussing changing unit to 15,000 and moving smaller one to bedroom. Anyone have issues with keeping their camper cool? We have been unable to get the camper cool enough to sit comfortably in living area unless early morning or evening and unit never shuts off. Any recommendations?

Welcome to the forum! If you come here seeking knowledge, you will often get many smart answers, and sometimes a few other smart answers.

You can get a reflective material called Refletix at hardware stores. It comes in a roll and can be cut as needed. You can take that and place it over the windows to reflect the heat, and also if you have a skylight, you can use it in there with another insulation barrier below. Also, turn your hot water heater off as it radiates heat.

My son bought that one last year, no problems keeping cool. He turns it down low at night and set the fan to say one not auto. It keeps the air moving instead of trying to catch up. I would think those temps it’s not going to shut off with one air.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Congrats on the new rig! RV's just don't have the insulation needed for the extreme heat we're having right now! Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
