That would serve no practical purpose that I can think of. You would still have to use the original power cord that came with the trailer to be able to plug in at a standard RV power pedestal......or make another short cord with the twistlock on one end and a NEMA 14-50P on the other end

Can you explain to me how that would be able to plug in at a campground....our anywhere that has the standard NEMA 14-50R style receptacle?

They make them for marine applications but are 600+ but are still plastic coated, I’d like to make it with SO or SJO wire

I need a complete cord set, that’s why I’m exploring this option
Can you explain what you are going to use it for? Plugging in at a campground? Plugging up to a large generator?

It sounds like he wants to extend the TT end of the cord not the pedestal end. I would do the same as twist locks are more secure, water resistant, and streamlined vs the pedestal end. I would do the same if I could find a cost effective way to do it.

I would keep an eye on eBay.
25 ft twist lock cords are fairly common and usually cheaper than buying components.
Also a molded plug will be more water resistant than the component ones.

Wow! $300 - $800? I made my 50' #6-4 SO extension cord (like Xrated) for under $100. I get it that twist locks may be better but I'm not sure how much better you really need to be, than a standard 50A extension cord. K.I.S.S.

That is 100 feet, but you get the idea. Search for 50 amp generator cords. I have several for my big home generators. I think mine are 30 feet or so. Lot cheaper than 100 feet!

Yea, that’s exactly what I’m looking for, then use these on the pedestal side. Or whatever style plug I need
