50 amp twist loc with center pin question

Bought a 50 amp cord with the twist lock which looks like it should fit my receptacle except for the center pin with which my receptacle is not equipped.

Can I remove the center pin? Don't want to change out the receptacle at this time. Everything looks like it should fit fine otherwise.

Hand grinder will make quick work of it

I pulled the center pin out with a pair of pliers. I can put it back if needed. That is all it is, a pin molded into the plug.

50 amp cord 50 ft long is a monster.

Bought it from vevor for $203 shipping included. Pretty good deal from my search.

Some of those cords are used on things certain vehicles. The center pin pushes a switch that prevent the vehicle from starting. The cord must be removed before starting. I worked at a hospital and the EMS vehicle stationed there had them. Stopped them from ripping the receptacle from the wall.

Lol. Now that is a good idea. Probably for the boaters too.
