My MH seems to like going 70 or faster.
I try to keep it close to 65. I've stopped checking the MPG. I just plan on 6 and anything above is great. I often turn off the cruise around rolling hills and just accelerate before the hill and it keeps the motor from getting out of Overdrive. I don't know how much gas it saves but it's just quieter.

Love it... going on 5 pages and we have EVERY reason in the book - some quote studies, some quote statistics, but most it's a feeling !
Most will drive where they want to drive no matter what, so just enjoy it and don't worry about it !
And as far as trusting studies and 'statistics don't lie' ???
you bet your sweet ahem, they certainly DO lie!!!
In a previous life I was in statistical analysis and stats didn't lie,
but now, somehow they tend to skew toward whomever is paying for the study or whomever is going to make money off the study!
So enjoy YOUR speed limit, be it 55 or 75 and I, unlike others, will not force MY opinion on you.
oh, and to make sure I stay on subject, the sweet spot is a bit different for every vehicle, because they are all different - some gas, some diesel, some towing, some motorhomes, some with 65mph ST tires, some with 75mph tires, some with different rear ends/engines/weights... etc...
So there is really no hard and fast rule... although I'll bet within 5 minutes I'll stand corrected

IMO; 62 probably uses less gas than 72. 65 is probably safer than 75 but also more safe than 55. MH's trying to keep up in the fast lane is not good or safe for many reasons. Slowing down to help the Semi's get in front of you after getting passed is helpful for everyone. Like golfers...... most drivers think they are better than they actually are. Me on the other hand; I'm pretty good at golf and really good at driving.

62 mph is 100 kph. Maybe it's not 62 mph that magical but 100 kph.
Our rig seems happier at around 68 mph, and I seem to get my best mileage there. Much slower, and it spends a lot of time in a lower gear.

I would "like" to drive around 62 MPH. Unfortunately, very few others do. In North Carolina interstates are posted 65/70. Median actual speed is 75/80. If I drive 62 the trucks will pass so fast and close they will peel the decals off the coach.
I try to stay with the flow of traffic in the right two lanes and maintain safe following gap. This speed is sometimes 65+.
I stay off I95 also known as the "Snowbird Raceway".

SPEED
The minimum speed on most interstates is 45 MPH...
I try to stay above that unless I am in a construction zone or parking lot due to a wreck.
60 MPH works pretty good with the MH...

55-58 most of the time. Going downhill I'll peel-off-the-leading-edge-paint at 60mph...

Just the feel you get from the pedal and the sounds you hear from the DW dictate 60 to 65. This is what we travel at in our 6 speed V10 and our 400 hp Cummins 40'

Seeing as I HATE Interstates and travel as much as possible on secondary/back roads 62 mph can be too fast
62 (actually anything between 60-65 mph) is a great place when towing.
62 mph/100 miles------4 hour 1 minutes 56 seconds
70 mph/250 miles------3 hour 34 minutes 17 seconds
Getting there 27 minutes 39 seconds sooner is just NOT worth the increased fuel, stress
I'm retired and get to ENJOY the journey getting to the destination now

Very surprised to see the huge difference in gas mileage.
I have been following this thread and found it interesting that 62 MPH was the ideal speed for fuel consumption.
However, ironically I had a trip yesterday. 550 miles RT. Bus trip with a sports team. On trip down, I ran between 73-74. The onboard computer was telling me my fuel consumption was about 7.2 mpg. (Diesel) We had to fuel up enroute to our game. Coach made comments to me about cost of fuel and budget constraints for his sports team.
On way home, since it was late, really not much traffic. I ran a nearly 100 miles at 62 mph and the constantly monitored the computer which told me we were consistently getting in the mid teens. Yes double the mileage which allowed me to make the entire trip back with 1/8 tank on board.
Coach told, me next trip we will leave earlier so we can have the added fuel savings.
I know when I drove for school district in Nebraska, our Transportation Director had our fleet governed down to 65mph to save on fuel costs. The first year savings were in the thousands of dollars. Our district often was on the road in 5 state region for band competitions, ROTC, and many other sports & activities. But back to the original OP. I was somewhat skeptical by that much of a drop in speed would make that much of an impact but certainly seems to, so I am going to drop it down a few notches on my D/P.
Most people probably don't remember the time when we had fuel shortages and interstate speeds were only 55 mph. So I guess, 62-65 isn't quite so bad.
