For the investment you are making, get an affordable professional third party inspection.

Check up www.NRVIA.com . They have certified inspectors all over US and Canada. The inspection can also involve sampling the oils and coolants to get an inside view of engine, tranny, gen set.

Sounds pretty good to me. I would much rather deal with replacing a roof A.C. and step motor than chase suspension, brakes, tires, driveability and handling problems and you have confirmed those are fine. BTW, you might find used AC shrouds on Craigslist for $50-75.

Being able to see the maintenance/repair receipts on an older RV would be ideal to see how it was maintained. Does he have them?
