I have a Navmat that a buddy got me for Christmas several years ago. Works great!
I like it because I can take it off the dash when I stop.

There is a flat washer that glues to the dash to use the suction cup mount. I use a sand bag mount, that way I can set the GPS on the floor out of Sun and sight.

The Portable "bean bag" mount is very convenient - easy to move around yet stays put.

This is what I did for my GPS mount. When I had a Garmin i used a small metal plate with the plastic fasten to this plate. When I switched to the RAND McNally I switch to a different mount and shaped a wooden block to accept the mounting device for the Rand McNally GPS. See attached the attached pictures.

I used the garmin bean bag mount when I had a 2001 f250. It worked great and didn't move around unless you made some really sudden or evasive maneuvers. I now use it in my 2015 f250 still works good, might move a tad more, but not much. Unless you want to stick one of the garmin pads permanently to your dash I would use this mount.

I am using a circular bean bag mount. I could not find my past order but I bought it through Amazon. You might look there for many options. I like the fact that nothing is glued together. My Garmin in the bean bag sits atop the dash and I can move it out of the sun and out of sight.

At first my Garmin was falling off the bean bag. Someone on these forums suggested moistening the base of the Garmin mount with a couple drops of water. Since doing so, it has not fallen again.

I started with the bean bag mounts and didn't really like them since they blocked the pivot of the larger gps screen, so went with this:
https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Portab...rmin+gps+mount

it's 'sticky' and washable on the bottom and bends to match the curves so it doesn't move... like it a lot since I can easily pull it down to the floor and out of sight, out of mind

I use a clip on vent mount in all my vehicles. Works great. <$5 on eBay or any dollar store.

I bought a bean bag mount, and it was great until I hit a pot hole and it went flying. Luckily, there was no damage.

Because I'm frugal (cheap), I attached velcro to the dash and bottom of the mount. All is good now.
