Advantium 120 Microwave - Turn Off Turntable

Okay folks, I did read the manual on this issue...but I can't believe it!

You can't turn off the turntable on this microwave? Seriously? Even our 24 year old RexAir's microwave had a button to turn it off...Am I missing the obvious?

Please hurry with the answer...I'm wanting bacon this morning... LOL!

I don't have an Advantium but our turntable on our regular microwave always rotates and no turn off. It seems that your bacon would cook more evenly if it rotates. Enjoy it!

Yep, have had Advantiums in two motorhomes. No way to turn off the turntable.

We have a 240 VAC Advantium at home. Just use one of the metal pans for your bacon and use Speedcook.

If you absolutely have to stop the tray from turning, remove the hub. Remove the tray and the turntable, the hub will be under that, and is what connects the turning motor to the turntable.

Speedcook and the metal trays. They do not have the piece that catches the thing that makes the turntable spin. At least the two metal trays that came with ours did not.

Speedcook uses a combination of convection heating elements and microwaves. For our 240 VAC unit at home it's an 8:1 ratio. For the 120 VAC unit it's a 4:1 ratio. So more microwaves and less regular heating elements with the 120 VAC version.

At home we can take tater tots from fully frozen to nicely browned and fully cooked in 10:30 versus about a half-hour in a regular oven.

I don't understand. If you removed the hub, number 12 in the picture, the turntable can't turn. Unless of course, your microwave isn't this version of the Advantium 120
