Advice on aging handles

The black handles on our fifth wheel outside storage doors (slam latch) are looking very dull from the sun. I think they are OK, but would like to put "something" on them to protect from UV. I'm thinking 303 Protectant will make them white and streaky. Any advice on what to use to bring them somewhat back to life? (We use Wash/Wax All on the camper body) THX

There are products that will help make them look better, but most are temporary. You will have t keep applying them once in a while.
Mothers Back to Black is one.

Short of painting them any type of protectants will have to be applied on a regular basis. When I was detailing cars I used Wesley's Black Magic which worked great but from looking online it looks like the product has changed. Why don't you try the 303 on part of one handle and see how it holds up? I have a similar faded metal handle on my driver's door and will probably paint it.

I've had the same issue on a couple different rigs. Most products that you wipe on are temporary, and I've tried several. I ended up repainting all my handles with a satin black trim and bumper paint in a rattle can. On one rig I removed the handles, on my current rig, I just masked them off and painted them in situ. Really didn't take long and after several years, they still look good.

Here's the original Westley's Black Magic BM16, I still have some, I was spelling it wrong. A quick Google search turned up "currently unavailable"

Are they plastic/nylon or metal? If metal, tape them off and paint them. If plastic/nylon, get some Bulldog spray paint prep for plastic, spray them and then paint them.

If you just want to treat them, Back to Black and 303 will last maybe a few weeks. The best stuff I've found for the plastic on my truck is made by Turtle Wax Trim Restorer. I've tried a half dozen products and hit on this one. It lasts about twice as long as the other products.

Get a can of pentrol from the hardware store. You will not find anything better I promise. Sun cooks everything out here and it’s a one a year application and done.

This is a new one for me. So I looked it up thought there was different product. Then added trim to search. Found 10 mo. test still looks good on real bad plastic . Thanks for sharing.
