I know that but don't want to switch it back to high in a hot RV if it doesn't keep up.

We use "Auto" almost exclusively. The one exception...occasionally if there is outside noise when we're trying to sleep, I'll set the bedroom A/C fan to "Low" so it helps drown out the noise.
