I've seen these types of tires for years, but they haven't been able to bring them to market for whatever reason. It's probably harder to get the ride & performance similar to current tires on a car. It would be a welcome improvement for trucks & MHs though, in terms of both maintenance & safety.

I have seen some other variations also and I wonder what they will do to prevent ice, slush, stones from getting inside and throwing off balance. Sidewalls?

I would think that if you properly shape the fins, most of the debris would not be able to permanently wedge itself between them. Then again, this might be part of the reason that this technology is not available yet.

Another problem is lack of load compensation. We adjust our air pressure for the load we carry, with airless you get on only 1 load range.

The tires I don't think I would buy right now, But if the solar panels get reasonable I would sure like to have them....

Not available yet.
China has not figured out a way to make them blow out.
Sorry couldn't resist.

Imagine the headaches in dealing with a road or even a driveway made of solar panels. This is another 'ain't gonna happen in my lifetime'. Might be able to build an interstate for a few billion per mile.

What goes around comes around
I worked on "airless" and "runflat" tires in 1972. Never was able to achieve all the performance goals at "cost" point.
Remember it is the air that carries the load and air is real cheap.
