Airport parking
Have you ever parked your RV in an airport lot when you were flying out
Was it hard to find a parking lot that would let you in

Call the airport or the parking services that serve most major airports. I'm sure they could accommodate your RV in most any of the open lots, don't think you'd want to risk your roof hardware in most garages.

I fly a lot. I've never parked my rv at an airport but I've seen it often. Ive always wondered about the logistics of getting it done but I'm sure with a bit of planning, and a little extra per day, it can be done just about at any airport.

We pick up rental cars at airports. The small regional ones are no problem. The larger airports are difficult to traverse and parking a tall vehicle is not available in the nearby short term lots.

Airports are notorious for low clearance overpasses. So there may be room in the lot but getting there or getting out may be a problem. So know your height (with a few inches to spare) before you call the airport.

Most airports have off premise, independently owned parking lots that provide transportation to/from the airport. You might check the airport you are departing from, I bet they have a few. We always prefer them because they drop us off right at the terminal we need. The bonus is that the cost is usually more reasonable.

The old short term parking terminal at the Salt Lake City airport has a number of low clearance signs both well before the turn up the ramp, on the ramp, and at the entrance. I still saw a straight delivery truck with its top peeled off from trying it out anyway! The advice to stay out of any parking structure is a good one. Open air lots are a much better choice.

The worst (and funniest in reality) place I have ever had an issue with a firearm in checked baggage was getting onto a Delta flight at SLC about 10 years ago.
As far as the topic, I would go with long term with an open lot. Second choice would be calling some off premise car rentals and see if they possibly would have available space. that you can rent from them.

I think that I should add that I am talking about a 40 foot Class A motorhome and when I park in a store parking lot, it takes up 4 car spaces.

Standard parking space is 8.5 - 9 ft wide, 16-18 ft long. You must be a sloppy parker to need 4 spaces!
You haven't mentioned what airport you're wanting to use, but I really expect if you check with some of the remote lots with shuttle bus service they really could probably 'squeeze' you in.

So specifically, what airport are you talking about?

Find a nearby storage lot and Uber to the airport.

Most likely San Antonio TX or Miami FL or Los Angeles CA depending on which way I am flying out

I could fit it in 2 spaces but then I would be taking up 110% of the space and be just a few inches from cars parked next to me.
Also, taking up 4 spaces, I assume they would charge me quadruple the regular rate. Probably $60 a day. RV park rent with hookups would be less than that.
