We got back from our first trip to Alaska in mid-August. We're just now finished ridding the rig of DUST...everywhere...DUST. We fully expected to have to deal with significant cleaning after a 14,000 mile trip but we're still amazed by how much filtered inside the living as well as the storage areas. All our seals remained intact but this stuff just got in everywhere, I guess.
But the cleanup is a small price to pay for an unforgettable trip that included the Top of the World and the Cassiar Highways, and the Icefields Parkway on the way home.

We had the same experience about 4 years ago. When asked what things we remember most about Alaska, "mud and dust" is always on the short list. But it is well down the list from things like mountains, glaciers, grizzly bears, elk, moose, salmon fishing, etc.

We had the same dust problems on our trip up there. It is not as though we drove in terribly dusty conditions but it took about a year before all the dust was out of all the nooks, crannies, having said that it was a wonderful trip thru a beautiful land an will do it again.
