Alpha See Ya

After 25 years of going to RV shows, I just bought an Alpha See Ya, '03.
Priced right for a poor boy. Learning how to break things!...

Any wise owners who can steer me away from trouble?

I seem to have a breaker/fuse out....no frig or water pump etc....
or heat/thermostat either

Check the battery disconnect circuit. Do the 12VDC inside lights work? If not you have a disconnect problem

Hi Bluewater,
Welcome to iRV2. Also check the coach batteries. All kinds of unusual things can happen if the coach batteries are not operating correctly. At full charge the batteries should give a reading of 12.6 VDC or more. If fully charged, a reading lower than this means the batteries are suspect. When checking the batteries make sure the coach is disconnected from shore power.

I do not know how the Alpha is wired. The water pump and fridge should be on different circuits. The water pump fuse (10 AMP or more), should be in the 12 VDC fuse bank located somewhere on the coach.

The refrigerator will have several fuses. Most are located behind the fridge. This area can be access via a removable panel on the outside of the coach. I have a Dometic fridge and it has 3 fuses. Even when connected to shore power, the fridge need 12 VDC power to operate.

I mention the coach batteries because all the items mentioned in the OP require 12 VDC.

Bluewater, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy the website and forums.
You are going to have some fuses under the dash (it lifts up) and some in the compartment over the driver seat. IF you find that you need info on how the three battery banks work, charge and invert send me a private message with an email address and I can send you a file that can explain how most of the Alpha's were designed. Good luck and keep us posted.
