There are no Costco's in Louisiana. The paper I use has to be readily available. Looks like a trip to Walmart and the local supermarket is in order.

I know there is the Theford brand of paper, I will have to try.

Just finished a 3 day trip used a whole roll of Angel soft, drove home (200 miles) and dumped without issue. I use a clear extension on the line to see when the tank is clean and the paper coming out was definately not clumped but rather in little pieces. Maybe the 200 miles of driving was enough, but the Angel Soft definately fell apart. Oh and all I add to the tank is one container of the cheapo tank treatment from Walmart.

Sorry, that stuff is like a lint explosion every time you touch it. Terrible. We had to dust the whole bathroom after every roll.

I would like to hear from RV'ers that are parked and are using a maceator.

What brand of paper do you use?

Really
I'll take the softness and dust more. I guess I never noticed, I dust every day anyhow. Got a thing about dust.

I asked this on another thread a while ago but if you have a macerator toilet wouldn't that preclude the need for a compatible toilet paper? It would grind it all up before it gets to the tank

That is a thought, Buy a maceator toilet.

I don't have a maceator toilet. I have a Sealand Style II. It is cheap toilet, you can buy a new one for about $175-200. I like it because it has a ceramic bowl, the rest is plastic.

Anyway, when I am in Louisiana, I am parked in a backyard, I have water and 50 amp electric, but no dump, there is a septic tank 86 feet away. I have a flowjet maceator pump that attaches to the tank discharge valve and a 100 feet of 1 inch black water line with a hose fitting on the end and have been pumping to the septic tank for a couple of years off and on with little to no problems. (Except hair getting around the blades of the pump).

When I am on the road, I use my 3" stinky slinky Rhino hose and get that rush when the valve is open. I also have a sprayer on the opposite side of my dump to rinse the tank.

So now, back to the original problem, I have been using Angelsoft for years with no problems, but lately it seems that the paper is not disintegrating as well as it used to. My "Pyramid" was my fault for not using enough water. I am looking to try other brands of paper, to see if they would work better when using a maceator.

I ran a test on 2 ply POM, made by Georgia Pacific and sold at Sam's Club. Put it in a jar of water and by morning it had totally disintigrated...plus, the D/W said it's okay.

That's a winning combination. Angel Soft is also made by Georgia-Pacific.

_________/I]

Now 'that' is funny. It is a wonderful world we live in when we can be concerned about the amount of 'Dust" from a roll of toilet paper. My laugh for the day. Thank you for the humor.
