Another (or old) slide problem ???
Our 2016 Cougar 5th wheel (please no bashing brands, its ours now) has a slide that has been scraping the furnace vent when it comes in. We have had it in for adjustment (fix) twice now ...(warranty) First was where we bought it, next was a different rv service place.
After the first place, it would miss the furnace vent, but would about grind to a halt before closing... Very bad for electric motors !!! And it was scraping off the undercoating under the slide. The second place adjusted the slide again, now works fine but once again rubbing alot on the floor furnace vent. It leaves residue of undercoating on the vent. Luckly "so far" it is not rubbing on the floor....
My question is ,,, is there a thin something we can put on the vent before retracting to help the slide up and over the 1/8th " or so ??? Or what do you recommend ??? Taking it back to the factory is out of the question... I'll fix it myself,,, somehow.... Thanks, and Happy New Year !!!!!

A thin sheet of nylon would do the trick.

Sounds like they put the furnace vent in the wrong place. Try to find a lower profile floor register.

We had a similar issue in our last RV. The slide was scraping on the wood floor. We found thin plastic/nylon roll up cutting boards helped.

Thanks everybody. We will look for a thin nylon sheet of some kind. I really doubt we could find a lower profile vent.

DW bought a 3 pack of "flexible cutting mats" yesterday. I'll try it later today and post back... Looks promising... (I hope)

The plastic table mats work well for what you want to do. They're cheap and durable.
