Any recourse for progressive denying hail damage?
Recent hail storm in texas and damaged 2 cars, house roof and RV (2018 Class C Leprechaun) sitting in the driveway. Progressive estimator said the dimples all over my RV roof did not cause damage but there was awning damage and dents on hood. They took some some pictures and then I took it to RV shop a few days later. Rv repair shop told estimators to come out and to look at roof and there were 3 significant dents on roof. Progressive claims these were not in original pictures and rv guys said rv always covered while there. After phone call it appears Progressive says I caused the damage. I asked for copies of the pictures but they would not give me an answer if I would get them. I am waiting on formal notification but wondering if I have any recourse or just typical progressive taking money and not paying out. USAA had no issue with the hail damage car or the house roof needing to be replaced. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

You could get a appraiser and have them estimate lose of value and go from there.

If they can prove their stance with pictures I don't think you have many options.
I would be very suspicious of the shop you took it to if their picture show the dents were not there when they appraised the damage.
Good luck.

Maybe it’s worth buying a drone and do a video.
This motorhome was in Rapid City and hit with golf ball hail along with about 200 other RVs
Here is a drone video of hail damage to an Ellipse Ultra 2017, it was at the Winnebago factory for an estimate. The estimate was $60,000 including the paint damage to the RV
Hail is bad, I guess the more you document and date it the better.

If I may I'll expand on your reply.
To the OP, my MH insurance policy has a specific clause that allows the policyholder to envoke a 3rd party appraisal process.
When this clause is invoked it takes Progressive out of the picture.
Both you and Progressive hire a 3rd party appraiser that is not connected to Progressive. Each creates their own appraisal, then they meet to discuss the amounts.
If they cannot agree, an "umpire" is hired to basically arbitrate the dispute, the umpires decision is final to both parties.
Read your policy closely to locate that clause, should you wish to persue the issue.
I'm undergoing this process now; wiich does cost out-of-pocket money.

The problem the OP may have is that Progressive is saying he may have caused the damage. It’s not a matter of them saying the damage isn’t bad enough, but that it wasn’t bad enough on first viewing.
If Progressive has pictures of a certain area and then retakes a picture in that same area, the picture may do their talking and they may stick to their claim.
Good luck to the OP. Good documentation to all reading this is vital for anyone with future similar problems.

How about posting pictures of your roof damage. Is your roof fiberglass or membrane?
Safe travels
Enjoy the journey

Is your MH insurance purchased directly from Progressive or is it purchased through USAA? USAA told me they have had no complaints from their deal with Progressive for MH insurance. So I would talk to USAA if you bought it through them. Best wishes

Why would Progressive believe the damage was not done by hail?
Get some good pics. No drone required. Just a ladder.
Contact your state insurance commission if you can't work out a reasonable settlement.
Progressive will then be contacted by them and will then call you. The oversight will separate opinion from fact.

Progressive is saying when their appraiser looked at it, the big dents in roof were not there, so they were added by someone later.
Personally, Progressive has treated our claims very fairly. Unfortunately all adjusters are created equal.

I had Progressive through USAA for 2 years and then they doubled my premium. I switched to Hartford through AARP and they were half of what Progressive wanted.
I know that doesn't help with this claim, but you may want to consider changing once this is resolved.
USAA fixed $4200 worth of PDR hail damage on my pickup 3 years ago, no questions asked. Just fixed it.

One thing that comes to mind is what would Progressive say if you said: "Ok, you cover the cost of the hail damage in your photograph, minus the cost to fix the three dents what weren't there. In other words, why aren't they covering the approved damage?
Certainly their appraiser had a settlement figure in mind when the vehicle was looked at and photographed originally.

Typical. The damage may have been there and the appraiser did not see it. Or didn't photograph it. Probably the reason they won't give you the photos.
As said above, they should pay for the damage they originally estimated.
While the work is being done, the other places would not cost you much.
Progressive must have a ton of claims and just trying to limit their losses.
I insured my motorcycle for 10 years through them. Then the premiums went up over 30%. Their reasoning was because of the number of claims they had to pay out for the previous year. I asked if they had that many motorcycle claims and they told me it was due to the total number of claims, not just motorcycles. They would not budge even when I told them I was dropping them.
BTW, I never files a claim in those 10 years. Someone has to pay for Flo and all the commercials.
