Do they make any that are flat towable .
I wouldn't buy a hybrid nowadays! The charm of an EV is no drivetrain to maintain / repair!

My truck is my daily driver, but since I'm retired, I only put about 7500 miles a year on it. I've owned a truck since I was 16 years old. I'll always have a truck. If they can make one with 400+ mile range, is towable and doesn't look like a space ship, I'll probably buy one. I like the idea of electric cars, I just don't like the way our Government is forcing them down our throats. Trying to force more people into cars 10-20 years before there is infrastructure to support them.
I figure it will be at least 2024 or 2025 before there will be a truck that interests me. Initially the Rivian was suppose to be towable, but I think there just isn't a big enough market for any of the manufacturers to worry about one being towable,

Not to my knowledge, therefore we'll just wait this one out.
There could be a big market for flat towable EVs that can regen while being towed. Seems completely feasible and would not overload campground grids, most of which are already sketchy enough.

If EVs were any good the government wouldn't have to force them down our throats. We would buy them anyway. So ask yourself why that's not happening. The answer is that they aren't really any good.

As an old friend said about the Ford 8N vs the John Deere A tractors. "That Ford would be OK to drive around looking for hen nests around the barn, but if you want to do some work, get a JD"
Now that electric might be OK when you haul groceries from Kroger a couple of blocks away but if want to go someplace and come back get a internal combustion engine. What happens in an Atlanta traffic jam on a cold day with rain or snow? How am I going to stay warm or keep the windshield clear so I can get back home?
Novelty at best when I am looking for hen nests

I just bought an all-electric car for my wife - an Audi E-Tron. It did not feel like anyone was forcing me to buy it. It is just a really nice car. Aside from the fact that the electricity is cheaper than gas my wife really likes the convenience of not having to fuel it outside in the weather.
We still need an ICE for long trips. Getting from Boise to Butte to visit the kids and grand babies in the Audi is a tenuous proposition.
An electric pick-up would do most of what I need a truck for, but of course it would not tow a trailer very far.

For 1/2 -ton grocery getter it might be OK, but I wouldn't even consider a PVE on my wife's new 2021 Hyundai Santa FE, we went ICE.
For a real truck 3/4-ton and up, NO! It might eventually work out for class 8 truck. But I see them being used between terminal runs of day apart. The truck would than sit for overnight charging and be back on the road.
Where will you charge the vehicle, I do not know of any charging stations at campgrounds do you? So, you go on a 4500+-mile trip out west to Yellowstone or the Grand Canyon. Where would you stop to charge this vehicle up and how many electrical charges would it take to get there and back. And how much time would the vehicle be down for charging, if it can't be done at a campground.
I know I filled up 12 times and had an average of 12.11 MPG with my truck, on that trip.

My opinion is the range they can go without a charge would turn me off.

Come to the west coast and look around.....Teslas everywhere. There is nothing wrong with an electric vehicle. They're quick, quiet and powerful. There forcing them down our throat because of alleged global warming, not because they're poor quality.
Like it or not, electric is the future.

I plan on buying a grocery-getter, Nissan Leaf or equivalent to replace my wife's aging Suzuki because that makes sense. Local use, affordable, low maintenance.
The idea of an EV pickup doesn't make any sense, at least as far as the technology exists today. Certainly not for towing anything. More pie in the sky hype.

Could you even buy a plug in electric truck if you wanted one? I read that Ford has 200,000 reservations for the Lightning. Supposedly will take them years to build. Maybe a 300 mile range so it wouldn't be much use as a tow vehicle unless you were just going to the nearby lake. I think we'll see viable hybrids in the RV world pretty soon. Might be awhile for full EVs.

And Teslas don't even get the Fed tax credit. Folks must like them, no force needed.
