In my humble opinion you're overthinking it drill a hole while the valve is closed spray the silicone-based lubricant. Pull the handle back as far as you can and in my opinion any liquid will be forced around the perimeter of the blade when you pull it back. Let's face it any lubricant is going to be a vast improvement over what it has now
