Anyone up north de winterize yet?

Hi,

Anyone up north de winterize yet?

I am based in Michigan and tempted to do so this week.

It's a tough call, but the coach is at home and can monitor the interior and bays via wifi.

There’s no campgrounds open this early, so there’s no where to go.....as much I’m dying to get out.

Although, in my case, I winterized in the late fall, and then used it to travel to Florida after the new year for a couple of weeks without de-winterizing. We just didn’t use the fresh water system. Too hard to winterize since it doesn’t have a water heater bypass (yet), and Truma says you can’t put antifreeze in it.

So it was bottled water, including for flushing (more like rinsing, really). Drained the black and gray tanks on the way back, just before hitting another snow storm on the road.

While the sun has finally started to get a little “ooomph” to it here in Vermont, it’s still going into the teens at night for the foreseeable future. Probably will get the cover off in a month or so and clean out the water lines in early May.

That being said I’m right with ya OP, definitely getting the itch!

Although I'm much further south (Virginia), I drain and blow out my systems in-between the "nice weekends" that I use the RV. It isn't difficult, takes little time, and no flushing of antifreeze to remove taste, so quick to make ready for use, too.

I definitely have the itch to get the rv out. It's not as bad as previous years though as put a concrete pad in last year to keep it at home.

OK, I know I am not going to be liked for posting this, but...the family and I are (as I type these words) camping at Roper Lake State Park, in southeastern Arizona. Our biggest complaint is that the wind is a bit blustery. However, we are enjoying the 76* temperature!

So, yes, we have de-winterized our RV! [emoji16]

Making a mental note to remember in Mid Aug when you are living in blast furnace temps to send you updates on the weather up north.

Checked my batteries down in the basement today and contemplating putting them in next weekend to get it home from the storage yard. We really have not had an actual winter here in Northern Ohio. But that statement probably just brought on the jinx.

I need get some work in for the beginning of the racing season for me the first of April at Mid-Ohio. But i have done some prep in previous years with the snow falling...
