Anyone watching the weather???

For those of you (and us currently) in the panhandle area of Florida, SW GA, and SE AL. keep your eye out and ears on.
Soon to be Hurricane Michael is winding up just South of Cuba.
Current models have it hitting the above area Wed some time with 100+ mph winds.
Keep tuned to the NOAH station and National Hurricanes web site for updates

We are starting to think of a plan B

I'm in Pensacola...don't want to move at the moment, and a storm will really mess up my work schedule. Hope it doesn't amount to anything, and if it does...it goes somewhere else.

It will overwash St. Joseph Spit/St. Joseph Peninsula. Port St. Joe will flood.

Farther east, it may overwash St. Vincent Island, St. George Island, Dog Island and Alligator Point. US-98 from East Point eastward will wash out as it always does.

All that water pushing into Apalachee Bay has to go somewhere, so Ochlockonee Bay will flood, as will Dickerson Bay (Panacea), Spring Creek, Shell Point, Live Oak Island, St. Marks up past Newport and all the way east to Keaton Beach, Steinhatchee and Cedar Key. At least minor flooding will continue down toward Anclote Key.

I hope none of this happens, but if you're on the coast in any of those areas the last time to boogie out is TUESDAY MORNING.

Spend our winters in our beach house in Carrabelle, Florida. We look out onto Dog Island. We had 2’ of storm surge under our house when Hermine came ashore two years ago. Fortunately we are on stilts nine feet high which saved the house but left a ton of debris behind. We are in Forest City, Iowa now at the Winnebago Factory waiting on a slide repair. Will be headed to Carrabelle arriving Sunday. Lucky we decided to stay in Iowa or we would already be home. Never want to go through any level of Hurricane again. Our RV will always be ready to head inland at a moments notice.Click image for larger version

just now it looks like just west of panama city, so hopefully pcola just gets rain and lower winds. but have not ruled our pcola or santa rosa

it really ramped up over night, 35 to 75 and they said last night only a cat 2 at landfall, now cat 3 at landfall, but wind field is for hurricane force winds is relatively small in comparison to the size of storm.
take precautions , be safe our old house is right in middle of tarklin bayou at tarklin bayou plantation, off bauer road and it held up well to ivan

Does anyone know if Gulf Islands (Ft Pickens) is closed? I'm not seeing any alerts. It will be two weeks before we're there, but if the damage is too great it may be not be prudent to go.
I know Rocky Bayou State Park (campground only) in Niceville is currently closed. That's our second stop.
Regardless, at worst for us it's an altered vacation. For those who live in the path, it's much worse. Please be safe, and our thoughts are with you.

Down in the FL Keys its blowing like crazy and we're getting bands of heavy rain. Fortunately the eye is way west and going north. We're still rebuilding from Irma last year!
