App for finding Dish satellite

I am looking for an app to find Dish satellites in AR. I had one for years and it went out of business Sat Pointer. I like to check out sites to see if I can obtain satellite reception near trees. What are y’all using. I have IOS device.
Thanks

Not sure if they have an IOS version, but I use Sat Finder Lite on my Android. I just did some Google Foo, and found it in the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

i just use a compass when we get to our campsite. i know this doesn't work when you're on the road. from experiance with GPS's i can't see how they can pin point a camp site for sat. reception? here out west everything changes almost year to year. its difficult to get camp sites that are not blocked by trees or mountains.

I still have Sat Finder Pro but haven't used it in a while but it appears to still be working.

I always used a compass as well with my portable dish. But we had Directv that had a set up menu that you could input your present location to get azimuth and direction to point the dish. This made it fairly easy to find that one hole through the trees.

Nice, but what Sat Finder Lite (& Pro) does is allow you to point your phone's camera to the sky while lined up with the satellite positions and what the camera is seeing on the phone. While looking at the camera image on your phone and pointed to where the satellite(s) are located, you will naturally see any obstructions, such as trees, because that is what the camera is seeing.

I'm not really a phone person, BUT the compass works good just set it to north and in my area South West is where the tailgater needs to aim at. IF it works great, if it doesn't, we get the Yahtzee game out or one of the many games we have, tv isn't a must have. ever play strip Yahtzee each person rolls for 1's the loser has to remove something then 2's and so on kinda fun even for 76 year olds!!!!
