Aqua Hot 400D

Saw some information on You Tube concerning RV heating with the Aqua Hot 400D. Has anyone had any experience with them? One video said they were expense. Is it worth that cost?

Unless your coach came with Aqua hot you're in for a lot of work. Through out a coach with Aqua Hot or Oasis there are water lines that run to mini radiators. As the hot swater passes through the radiators it heats the inside of your coach. Aqua Hot and Oasis burn diesel to create a heat source for the water tank built into the unit. So, if you have a gasoline engine its not going to work. Aqua hot units take up about 3'x2' of basement storage, the Oasis is a little bit smaller. Like I said, the big part is running water lines to and from the radiators inside the coach.

Finally, if you're buying a new coach and are gathering idea's, Both units are great and provide an abundance of interior heat and virtually unlimited hot water for the sinks/shower.

A point to remember.....the 400 does NOT have engine preheat.
You need to go to the 450

I am not sure if the 400 also does not have the basement heat.

That said, I like my 400D. It keeps the coach warm and toasty as well as the basement. I persoanally like this heating system. No issues. Just my .02;

My 400D has the ability to heat the basement (even has its own thermostat located in the basement)...has been keeping the basement and tanks at a nice 64 degrees even when the ambient outside is in the low 20's or teens. I could make the thermostat set the basement cooler, but, have found that having the basement warmer also keeps the floors (imported tile) in the living areas warm

Will never own another coach without hydronic heat; no noisy furnace and I can take a shower for as long as I want
As far as engine preheat, my coach came with an engine block heater (AC; park's or generator) that serves the same purpose and I don't have to worry about extra fluid lines from the AquaHot boiler.

Those lines are nice though when you want to run your furnace while going down the road. Don't have to fire up the diesel burner. It may be minor, but it is a feature of having the engine pre-heat.
