My intention was not to start an RV class war but to point out how some campgrounds are really going down hill and frankly don't feel too safe.

I had avoided posting on this issue but since no one else has brought it up I will throw this in:
How many of you are Thousand Trails Members? Thousand Trails is now leasing sites in their parks and many of the parks are turning into what some of you have referred to as "shanty towns".
The park I am most familiar with is Soledad Canyon which the last time I was there was overrun with what could only be described as homeless (not RV'rs). I have personal experience with knowing two different families living at another TT park full time who are on public assistance and if not for TT would probably be living on the streets. Is this wrong? I really don't know. One of these families left assisted housing because they use drugs and did not want to put up with unannounced visits by social workers.
What I really have a problem with is having paid thousands to belong to what was supposed to be an exclusive membership park I now have to share it with the homeless.
