Self insuring is a personal choice. I used to be the finance mgr in the car business and sold plenty of EWs. I pd $5k for the one on my 06 40' HR because of the high risk. I do believe in self insuring small risks like the deductible on health ins or buying dental ins. If my diesel eng or tranny goes out, it's a bundle. Read about the problems people have.
