Cool Are you a full timer and not know it?

One seminar at FMCA/Perry regarding RV insurance opened my eyes about something. If you are in your RV over 150 days in a year (assuming calendar?) then you ARE A FULL TIMER and may require different insurance. Take for example you do 2 months on and 2 months off. You're a full timer! The scenario was you have an incident, the adjuster comes to visit you and asks you this question and you have the wrong insurance - DENIED!

Some, perhaps many, carriers charge an additional premium if the RV is used more than 150 nights/year (or some other number they determined). They may call that "full time use", or something else.

I don't see any reason to get up in arms over it - it's merely one factor for establishing the premium rate. The vast majority of RVs are not on the road all that much, justifying a lower cost premium, but not everyone fits in the low-use category.

The problem is if you're not covered properly by your insurance provider they could deny you a claim. The scenario in the FMCA/Perry seminar with the FMCA insurance company speaker was an adjuster meets you to assess your claim and asks if you RV over 150 days a year. If you say YES and you're not covered for that, i.e. a full timer per this guy, you could be denied.

Anyone else attend the FMCA/Perry seminar on RV insurance want to chime in?
