Hello,

I wanted to start a thread on Asian Awareness. I am a 2nd generation American born Asian. I served in the the US military and received combat citations. I retired after 26 years of Federal Service, 21 being in Federal Law Enforcement. I have served the Country I only know and love, the USA.

The reason I bring this thread is that while waiting in line for the COVID vaccine, I overheard an ignorant person make a racist comment to an Asian lady. It didn't matter, she was Asian, I can not stand bullying of any form.

I stepped forward and presented my retired Creds. I asked what they have done to make them more American than I or her? No response.

Please be kind to your fellow American. I did not risk my life and protect this Country for almost 3 decades for just a single race. I did it for all AMERICANS.

Thank you for your service to this country! Unfortunately there are ignorant people everywhere. Scared little minds like to bully others they think are different and vulnerable. Human nature unfortunately.
Sad that it took a massacre like last week's to raise the issue of anti Asian racist attacks in the public forum, but it may be heard and acted on to a much greater degree as a result of the awareness of related issues by the BLM movement. Let's hope it then extends to other minority groups, and our great country may become an even more civilized place to live for all people.

We are all being played by the media and their lapdog politicians as to how much racism there is in this country.

Fact is, the U.S.A. is among the least racist countries in the world.

The only way to fight this false narrative is to smile, wave and be polite to folks.
