In your RV, what do you use to keep your linens and stored clothes from that musty smell?

Even at home in older dressers or plastic bins storing linens have had that problem.

Appreciate your responses...even fella's.

These, make them ourselves. Everything from orange peals to flower peddles as fillers.

or, just place a scented candle in the drawer, box, or tub.

i'm not a lady, but i wonder if one was to drill some holes in the plastic containers so that they ventilate. items sealed in a plastic container are going to sweat during temperature changes. causing the musty smell.

All clothes we owned were hanging in the closet or in drawers. Since our RVing was done weatherwise by moving with the temperature our wardrobes were suited for daily use year-round. Layering clothes works well for colder mornings/evenings. We didn't carry any 'winter' clothes. If you have to store them in plastic bins you're probably carrying too many clothes.

I have clothes in wooden drawers and hanging that have not been worn in years. There is no smell, musty or otherwise. Of course, these are in climate controlled areas.

Can it be that there is a lot of humidity and temperature fluctuation because the OP is boondocking a bunch? How bout laundry detergent? Might be time to try another brand. Oh, and you sure want to make sure clothes are good and dry before putting them away.

Lastly, our motorhome developed that musty smell inside it last year. This was while stored and possibly while the water pump slowly leaked for a month or more. Didn't have any clothes stored in it but I can guarantee they would have had the musty smell if they had been.

The only clothes we store in a plastic tub are winter clothes when we head south after Christmas. However I can imagine someone who stays in a humid climate could have an issue. I would recommend the holes in the tub first. If that isn’t enough, then scented bar soap or bags of pot pouri. I would think those would just make dank clothes smell a bit better though. You really need some air circulation.

About once every two months when I'm FTing, I open all closets and drawers and doors and run my ozone generator for an hour while I'm gone. Takes out all smells of cooking, smoking, dampness, mold, tank odor, etc.
