Awning Piping Working It's Way Out
Has anyone experienced this? The plastic piping that holds the awning fabric in the channel is working it's way out of the awning. I'm not even sure how this happens. I don't see any way to get it back in without completely removing the fabric. Just thought I'd check here first to see if I'm missing something. Thanks.

With all tension off the fabric ; awning out , and tube twisted ; the lock pipe should push back in .
Most installations would have a short sheet metal screw though the channel to stop the movement.

You are missing a screw at one end or the other that holds that in place.
Common issue.

Strange phenomenon .. Maybe similar to ,the long hinge pin in my boat windshield pushed up through my new boat cover over the winter storage . I know it wasn't sticking up 3/4" when I put cover on.

Search “replace rv awning video”. Once you decide you can do it, by a 6-pack and find a helpful neighbor. Getting that tube back where it belongs will use some of the knowledge gleaned from the video.
The beer is to ensure that you don’t try to do it without a willing assistant.

Awning issue
I just installed a new Awning fabric , after I had it in place I took a pair of pliers and compressed the channel on each end to keep it from moving

Leave the awning in the lock position. Drop the awning arms down so you can reach the roller, slide the upper arms down the roller support arms then move the roller back slightly without the roller turning so you have slack in the fabric. Hopefully you can wiggle the cord back into place then install a screw to keep it there.
You may need a helper or two to hold the roller etc. in place. Don't touch the awning lock until you are ready to retract the awning normally.

Or use a small ladder in the center with some padding on top to sort of nudge the roller up to relieve the tension. I replaced my 18 ft awning a year ago all by myself, and that was quite a job. I just looked at it, I didn't put any screws through the bead, but I have both ends of that bead captured in the end caps. There is about 4 in on each side.

Sorry to post and disappear. Just got back from a camping trip. Thanks for all the advice. Hoping to work with it one evening this week.
