Awning replacement sources for older MH?

I went and ripped the original Carefree cassette style awning right off our MH, hitting a small tree branch that stuck out into the road. It knocked the awning cassette right off, doing no damage whatsoever to the MH, so that was lucky.

The awning did not fare so well, looking like much of it was damaged beyond repair. We gave it away. In retrospect, I wish we'd kept it and attempted to rehab it, but oh well, it's gone.

Our MH cost us $4500 (although we've put a lot of work & some $ into it since purchasing it) so I can't stomach spending $1200 for a new cassette style awning. I also don't love the idea of spending $700 for one of the awning styles that leaves arms attached to the rig. I thought about a bag awning but are those not going to work because of the height of our rig (10') and the arms not being long enough? I can deal with $300-400 for a bag awning, with arms that stow in the bag for travel.

The whole awning game is a frickin racket. We're pretty close to getting an EZ Up canopy, but we don't really have a place to store it...

Anyone have a lead on a used awning source? I've talked to a couple RV salvage yards and they don't sell them, which I think is odd b/c pretty much every RV that comes into a yard will have an awning on it.

TIA!

It took me a while to get one for my Warrior. I recovered 2 from the median and spent about $80 to replace missing parts and $40 for a new (take-off) cover. So with parts from 2 + $120 I have a "new" awning with a small match-head size hole in the edge.

RV salvage places will usually have a selection of used awnings. I know of two youtube RVr's that added awnings to theirs from salvage places(one van one class c).
Here is a link to a site that list salvage places by state. Your profile shows Cali so I pre-selected that page.

California RV Salvage and Surplus - used RV parts in California
