Backing it up

Hello all! New to the group.

I have a Thor Windsport 34j and I’m ready to address the less then stellar camera situation with the axxera.

I was wondering if anybody could recommend a good 12v monitor in the 10” range that they like. I want to add it as a stand-alone rear view monitor or possibly incorporate the triggers for the turn signals. Haven’t decided.

Also, we pull a trailer and I would love to find a monitor that works with both wired and wireless so I can easily add a camera to the trailer or possibly a wireless camera that works over 60’ dependably and transmits to a receiver that can be wired along with the existing wired cameras.

This seems to be a bit of a unicorn especially with a decent size monitor. I would love to watch the trailer Fulltime and trigger behind the trailer in reverse or trigger turn signals.

Thanks all!

If you are relying on cameras to guide you in I would say you're overthinking this. You have side mirrors and that is really all you need. You mention a trailer, it does add to the equation but usually you'll need a pull through or have to put the trailer in a storage area.

As for backing up a Class A, practice in a parking lot until you feel comfortable with it.

First....wireless rearview cameras can be very temperamental in congested areas. There are dozens of monitors available on Amazon. Find one and take it a step further. Install it for your back up use and add GPS to it.

My goal here was to find a system to monitor my trailer while driving and make sure the area behind my trailer is clear before reversing. I would like to avoid having to wire a fourth camera all the way back to the trailer but it appears no one is aware of such a product. Thank you for your responses.

If it were up to me, there would be NO side mirrors and all cameras all around the rig and trailer. Much more effective.
The little problem is that there is an outdated law on the books that require big ole ugly, noisy, expensive, non aerodynamic, mirrors to be on the sides.

Yes, wireless is not the best solution. But better than no camera.
The other problem with monitoring the trailer is nighttime. Will need strong IR light source as well for that to be effective.
