Baja Experience

My Honey wants to travel the Pacific side of Baja.
Tell me your experiences with that adventure please. I haven't even looked at a map. I flew to Cabo once though.
Thank you.

EDIT: Any route experience you have is welcomed.

The most up-to-date info on Baja is likely found at Vagabundos del Mar. It's been about 20 years since I've been down there. You will likely find that the Sea of Cortez side of the peninsula is the side to go to. There was one main paved road down the peninsula, with dirt roads heading off to vacation spots on both sides. Distances can be large, so making sure you have the fuel to make it to your destination is always important. My friends who live in San Diego say that there is a lot more crime in Baja than when we used to go there.

I strongly suggest that you go with another party that knows the ropes in Baja.
It is NOT the USA, so laws and culture are different. No guns are allowed. You will run into an occasional inspection station where the Federales look inside your vehicle for contraband. Research everything before you go. Don't just wing it. Good luck!
