We are planning to go to Barren River Lake SP in Kentucky for the week right after 4th of July weekend. We are meeting friends there also. We will be in a 5th wheel and they have a tent. Can anyone recommend two campsites that are close to each other, near the water and close to (but not next to) a bathhouse? I could not tell from the ReserveAmerica site. Thank you.

Barren River Lake is a nice lake. Our favorite place is the COE tailwaters campground that is down by the river. Up on the hill is Ranger Bob's place where there is a restaurant and fuel. I'm sure the State Park is nice also.

It's been a couple of years since we have been to Barren but I believe the sites 39-53 and 54-79B are nearest the water. I think the lake is near the bottom of their map. The bath houses are near the middle of site 54-79. But I wouldn't bet much on my memory. It seems they have added better access to the lake from the camp ground. It used to be just a path. I hope this helps some.
