Yo Yo Mama,

Shame on you....you're just distracting me from my housework. I love it. I would lift my apron for you to take a peek, though!

Virg, will love this one...if he can get warm from his heater issue.

Tom, All this time I've been puzzled why you chose such a way to increase your bed support strength, when it was so simple for me. I finally figured it out. You have a RV specific issue which was/is linked to several boards. Looks like I fell for their shenanigans once again, sorry.

Ray and Tom,
So what happened here as I look at it is that we got 2 fixes for the same problem on two different rigs. A help to everyone and a good reason for shortcut to other forums..

not without the permission of the writer. This process primarily serves the purpose of the forum and is often based on the judgement of roving moderators who do not know the people involved and sometimes do not even understand the intent of the question. IMHO, it is just wrong and causes about as much ill will as it helps. I had stopped grinding this axe but your comment drew me into the fray again.

Virg...Take a look at the post here.... I made sure everyone knew that I made a shortcut because this is NOT just an Excel problem (Another Moderator also put it to fifth wheels for the same reason - and he argued that Excel is a 5er so it should go there.)

I agree with Makin Smoke. You should ask the writer first if it OK.
It seems MM, that you made the shortcut without the writers permission even though you made sure everyone knew you made a shortcut???

Now I will really get in trouble It seems like the Excel owners forum is not for Excel owners only any more.

Just my opinion

Since you wanted opinions............
First, anything you post anywhere on the internet becomes public property unless it is password protected on a private server, or by copyright. Just the nature of the beast. Therefore, permission to move, delete, shortcut, etc is automatically given to the owner of the website where you posted.
If an admin, moderator or other person in charge of handling content on said website decides that it would benefit more people on the site, they have implied permission to do whatever they wish with the post.
What I have been seeing on this Website lately is that a small number have decided they own the website and/or the content on it. If things aren't done exactly the way they think it should be done, they get upset.

This part of your statement has never been the case. ALL the different forums are for the benefit of ALL the members, and for that matter, all the visitors who just come to read and not participate .

Again, JMHO
Oh yeah, just for information, we also have the problem with the bed. It was the shortcut that got me involved with reading the fix and then this discussion

SacsTC,
The comment I made about Excel owners was made from this.
" Excel Owner's Forum This Forum exclusively contains discussions related to Excel Fifth Wheels Produced by Peterson Industries"

Knew I was going to get in trouble.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we get all that, all of us know the definition of OWNER...BUT we are saying, we do not like it AND some of us believe that it benefits the forum more than it benefits the poster. Obviously, the owner of the site and the administrators agree with you. I just did not want your flowery comment (or poke at some of us) to go unchallenged as if everything was just peachy. Some of us disagree with you, the owner and site administration. We can not fix it but we sure can state our side just as you chose to restate the the opinion with which you agree. I'll lay it down if you will.

TIME OUT! I began this cross-linking tirade by making an off-cuff comment. This is entirely my fault for not closely reading the thread title back to it's beginning. I try not to make comments in RV specific boards exactly because the original post was for a problem specific to the OP's make/model RV. Since I do not know anything particular to model RV's I've never owner/maintained, I would be foolish to pretend otherwise.
While I strongly disagree with cross-linking threads to other boards, I strongly defend the website owner, and administrators right to run it as they decide. I view this an an admission by the administrator that they have created too many specific boards, once again their decision as they see fit.
