Best Market To Sell?
We're looking at selling our 2013 Four Winds 31L - probably in May. We could do it in the Phoenix/Tucson area or the Dallas/Fort Worth area. If we go with Phoenix, would this limit our ability to find a buyer vs. D/FW?
Have any of you bought or sold a rig in these areas lately? Would be interested in your experience.

Personally, I think those are two really hot markets and you'll do fine in either. With Quartzsite closer to PHX though, you may have more visitors at this time of year.
I would post it in RVTrader as well, if you're not already doing that.
Good luck!!

I would go with the bigger market especially since I think it's a fairly common type of coach, although there are currently none exactly like yours available on RVTrader. I know that when I was looking at coaches I was will to go to where the coach is to get what I wanted so I'm not sure it's a big deal. I drove about 300 miles to get my coach and considered that to be a short distance. Good luck.

Everybody says look for deal before or during / before winter or wait to sell until spring. But I seen way more available in spring, law of averages more good deals that spring and summer from those that ask reasonable price. So if you list now or early may even thinner availability.

We sold ours within a month at PPL Consignments, Houston. Good experience. We put the price on & got what we asked. Our buyer flew in from Florida.

You'll be fine with either.
If you are waiting until May because you consider that to be the best time to sell, you may want to back up a few weeks into April.
IMO, having sold 3 rigs, it is best to price it reasonably but everyone wants to talk you down. So I price it slightly high and then tell the buyer you priced it to sell but they sure raked you over the coals and you would let it go for.....
They feel like they won and you got a fair market value. I mean doesn't every guy want to show his wife how smart and tough negotiator he is

Best Market To Sell?
Can’t offer advice on which market but I do have some listing suggestions. Currently it’s a sellers market but I expect that to change in the next 6-12 months. Dealer stock for towables has increased so the used market is slowing down but motorized stock is still slim to none. First determine what your bottom line price is and add to that for negotiating room. As stated previously, everyone wants to feel like they got a bargain. Next try listing it on a local Facebook Market Place or Craigslist for a max of two weeks. If it hasn’t sold by then list it on rvtrader.com. Don’t wait because people are still excited about living the RV lifestyle. They charge what I consider is a reasonable listing fee and have a national audience. We have sold our last four RV’s this way and always got top dollar for them. Of course they were all very well taken care of. Our last RV was listed on a Friday in spring of 2021 and sold on Monday to the first couple that inquired, for more than we paid for it three years prior. Good luck.

That's one approach. The other I have had success with is to price it very close to your bottom line and when buyers ask if I'd take less or actually make a low ball offer I never say no. Instead I tell them I did my homework and priced it to sell but I will accept signed offers in writing and sell to the highest bidder (when I decide to sell). If they are really interested they will normally agree without going the bidding route.
I just try to avoid saying NO unless it's an unreasonably low ball and I usually tell them if they can find anything of equal quality for that price don't hesitate better jump on it.
