This is what one of our neighbors found at Dollar General in our area. He and his wife have a pet sitting service.

"Greeting one and all. this is just a quick note to
tell you a true event that took place tonight that got
me expelled from one of the local DOLLAR GENERAL STORES
here in the New Bern & Pamlico County Area of NC.

I went into the one Dollar General to buy a few
bottles of 2 cycle oil. While passing through the pet
area I looked and they still had on their shelves the
following pet food that is on the recall list

1. Best Choice
2. Cadillac
3. Great Choice
4. Mighty Dog Pouch

There were two people(elderly and not together) who
had a few cans of this food. I asked them if they heard
about the recall of some pet foods, they said yes but
did not know what brands they were so I told them, all
the brands that are here that you now have and are on
the shelves (I also have a list of the numbers along
with the brand names with me). Well when they said
something to the store manager she got mad AT ME and
basically told me politely to mind my own
business..well for those of you who know me...I DID...
and the county animal control was there with in 5 min.
I did take the time to go most of the other DOLLAR
GENERAL stores in these areas, found 2 more that still
had these pet foods still on their shelves.. So if you
or someone you may know goes to any DOLLAR GENERAL
stores, please let them know about them keeping these
recalled foods on their shelves. I know that most have
most likely taken them off but after seeing this I had
to let one and all know."

Thanks again for your time

One of my co-workers did not find out about the recall in time and fed these products to two of her dogs. She lost both of them last week. This is not something to be taken lightly.

The scary thing is that they still do not know what it is or how to detect it. Can this make the jump to human foods? Brown gravey, chilli, chunky stew or what have you.

It was not us, it was one of our neighbors. He is a retired Marine. He and his wife run a pet sitting service. They looked after our last cat when we were Rving. He(the cat) was very hyper and could not travel.
